Studio practice
An exploration of scale, material accumulation, and the physical limits of oil and cold wax on raw canvas.
Material as form
The practice is defined by the physical weight of the medium. Layers of oil and cold wax are applied to raw canvas, building density until the surface begins to dictate the final composition.
Currently based in Brooklyn, the studio environment provides a stark, controlled space for these large-scale works to develop. The focus remains entirely on the interaction between texture and light.
Exhibition history
Recent solo presentations include structural surveys in New York and Chicago, focusing on the spatial relationship between large-scale textural works and minimalist gallery architecture. These installations highlight the ongoing dialogue between raw canvas and heavy wax.
The work has also been included in contemporary group surveys across San Francisco and Chelsea, placing the practice within the broader context of modern material exploration. Pieces are currently held in numerous private collections.
